Hey there, I am Celina, I am a fiber artist and visual storyteller who mostly works with crochet as a way of working both as a practical craft and an expressive art. My creations exist where softness and structure touch and meet, where patience and play touch and meet, and where tradition and experimentation touch and meet. I love the quiet beauty of handmade things and how they give slow processes room for intention, emotion, and connection in every stitch.
Crochet, for me, is not some technique; it’s a language. Through repetition, texture, and shape, I explore ideas of comfort, memory, care, and the material’s presence. Some of my work ends up being wearable or home decor, while some is more of a sculpture or concept, using yarn to tell a story rather than just being functional. No two pieces are exactly the same, and that is the uniqueness that I really treasure. There is no one creation that does not have its own beat, quirks, and personality like the hands that made it.
My history in photography really colors how I do fiber work. Light/form/composition, I hear myself say, list as though the material feels soft, and I super into how texture sets the mood/ canvas is its atmosphere, and ‘that emotional chord, or ‘baseball/cluster’ for sure must come with it. Whether I’m creating a piece of gentle comfort or something more daring in form, I want to make work that gives people the freedom to touch it, the space to ask questions, and the time for quiet contemplation.
Sustainability and slow making are in the center of what I do. I pay a lot of attention to thoughtful sourcing and intentional design and processes that respect time rather than rushing through it. In a world so obsessed with speed and mass production, my work is a celebration of patience, individuality, and the beauty of things made carefully by hand. Each project is approached with curiosity and care, allowing the material to guide the final outcome.
This spot is both a portfolio and creative journal – a meeting place (of craft and art) and a spot for turning soft into strength. I hope that what I am doing brings a sense of comfort, wonder, or connection to anyone who encounters it, whether they are wearing it, holding it, displaying it, or simply experiencing it.
Thanks for being here and keep it going and deal with handmade.
